Sunday Reflection: What Habit That You Like Have You Neglected in the Past Week?

This question originates from my own experience. In the past week I neglected two writing habits I have:

  • Journaling: I usually take five minutes a day for some stream-of-conscious journaling.
  • Blog Articles: I aim to write 2-3 articles per week for this blog.

While I can think of all kinds of reasons to justify why I neglected these habits, I find it more helpful to take a brief moment to simply realize this fact.

I would like to invite you to take a minute or two to identify a habit that you have neglected in the past week. Try not to come up with a justification, just experience this fact and observe how it makes you feel.

  • If you don’t feel much at all, perhaps the habit is not that relevant to you anymore. You can use the space to find activities that  are more in line with your current self.
  • If you do feel you miss the habit, then now is the time to figure out for what reasons you missed it. See if you can work around those reasons, or adjust the habit so it becomes more effortless next week.
