My Mother-in-Law is Awesome. Here’s why.

I leech off the Netflix account of my in-laws. Occasionally, Netflix requires me to log in again. While I have magically remembered the password since the second time I had to look it up, I struggle to remember the exact email address of my mother-in-law.

Fortunately, for my binge watch sessions, she writes small posts for the readers react-column of a national newspaper. Last week it happened again. Netflix required me to log in, I tried two variations of what I thought her email address might be – to no avail – and had to look her up again.

I read one of her articles. On how many women still feel harassed in contemporary society and how we still have a long way to go. It was absolutely savage. But in a good way. I continued reading. An article on anti-vaxxers. The same savage quality endured, and I loved it.

But here is what I love even more: the fact that she posts these articles in the face of negative reactions. She got a negative response on one of her earlier posts – which is to be expected when being savage to groups of people – but she kept on writing. And I think that is absolutely courageous and awe-inspiring.
