Have you ever been so deeply engaged in something that you lost track of time? Moments like these are often called “flow” experiences, where your mind and body become fully immersed in an activity, and everything else seems to fade into the background.
When was the last time you felt fully immersed in an activity? Maybe it was while working on a creative project, getting lost in a good book, or tackling a challenging problem at work. Perhaps it happened during a physical activity like running, playing a sport, or even hiking in nature. Whatever the moment, think about what made that experience so absorbing. How did it make you feel during and after the activity?
These moments of total engagement can reveal something important about what energizes and fulfills us. By reflecting on these experiences, you might get a better understanding into the types of activities that make you thrive.
For me, the last time was just yesterday. I was out for a walk, and as I shifted my attention from mentally replaying my day to noticing my surroundings, I felt an unexpected sense of peace and focus. I paid close attention to the park around me: the sight of trees and water, the unpredictable chatter of birds, and the voices of people chatting nearby.

I often get totally absorbed in editing a poem. Also, I make an omelet for myself most mornings with lots of chopped up veggies. I get really absorbed in the chopping activity.

Great that you can get entirely absorbed in your art (and the chopping ;))! I can imagine that makes it much more fun to work on as well ☺️
